Hi, my name is Bob Davis and I am the Webmaster of St. John's Dojos. I am originally from the Port Au Port Peninsula, but have been living in St. John's since 1988.
I created this website was created in 1997 in an effort to locate a martial art. It has evolved and is now used to promote all martial arts in St. John's, Newfoundland.
It fuctions as a "Yellowpages" for the martial arts community. St. John's Dojos also offers advertising, website hosting, tournament announcements, and resources such as where
to buy a gi and the NL Shotokan Karate Newsletter. You can find it on Facebook.
I practiced wrestling and kickboxing in High School. Coming from a small community, there wasn't much formal martial arts. After high
school I moved to St. John's to attend college. I was introduced to Aikido by Sensei Leslie Mulholland from the MUN Aikikai in 1988. I continued to study Aikido under Sensei
Al Skehen from the St. John's Aikikai from 1991 to 1995. In 2005 I started Shotokan Karate under Sensei David Bell from the MUN Shotokan Karate Dojo.
I recieved my black belt in karate from Sensei David Bell on September 12, 2012.
